This song features a guitar tuning and stringing system I invented called the Axelrod Axe -a unique innovation which allows me to identically simulate the sound of harmonized guitars without electronics or overdubbing. I put out an instructional book and record on this system that was published by Warner Brothers on the early 80's. It's long out of print, but will be re-released with a video later this year. The photo with Cab Calloway was taken in '93- on the S S Rotterdam. He was a passenger and with his entourage, ran up a 7 thousand dollar bar bill, When the cruise director asked him if he'd perform "Minnie the Moocher" for the passenger talent show, he agreed. At the end of the cruise, the purser handed him the bar bill and he handed it back saying that was his fee for performing!
