Milan based DJ/Producer Eddie Danielli brings some serious heat with his first EP release, Disco Tools 1° Moods, on own label Sampling Moods Records. A devoted vinyl collector, Danielli's label focuses on offering a contemporary interpretation of rare groove hits and disco classics, a claim made by many labels & producers but rarely done well. So it's a real treat that all 4 tracks on his first record are of such quality and variety, with one core similarity of lo-fi raw energy, taking gritty samples and adding a rhythmic punch to the face. We've picked Charlie as our favourite of the 4, it's built around a sample from Cloud One's ‎- Charleston Hopscotch featuring a distinctive high siren sound ringing in the background and a jazz piano lick with a separate vocal sample layered over the top. It's all about when the beat kicks in just after 30 seconds that the record really gets going, definitely one for a hot sweaty basement!
