ll Podere della Bertazza, un tempo dei Principi Meli Lupi di Soragna, a Diolo di Soragna si veste -- come da tradizione -- a festa per ospitare la 9° edizione del ROOTSWAY -- Roots 'n' Blues & Food Festival. Una festa nel pieno rispetto delle tradizioni popolari delle terre di Po che si è svolta nelle serate del 28 e 29 di giugno 2013. E la musica Blues, che nasce autentica dal cuore della terra, rivive qui insieme ai profumi e ai sapori di una cucina ormai famosa targata "Amici della Bertazza".

Dopo aver messo il Blues a servizio delle problematiche più che mai attuali quali: il lavoro nero, la precarietà, le morti bianche, le discriminazioni sociali, Daniele Tenca and the Blues for the Working Class Band rivolgono l'attenzione alla situazione economico-sociale dei nostri giorni, dove la crisi e le difficoltà economiche sembrano persino soffocare la rabbia e la necessità di ribellarsi. Testi e musica senza sconti per svegliare le coscienze addormentate di questo terzo millennio.
Il risultato è uno show coinvolgente a livello musicale ed emotivo, che riporta il Blues alla sua originale funzione di veicolo di comunicazione sociale, grazie all'apporto di una Band dall'esperienza decennale insieme ad artisti blues di valore internazionale (Andy J. Forest, Aida Cooper, Keisha Jackson, Ronnie Jones, Arthur Miles per citarne alcuni).
A tre anni dall'esperienza alla Bowery Electric di New York, "Wake Up Nation" è stato presentato al leggendario Stone Pony di Asbury Park, New Jersey, USA, nell'ambito del "Light of Day Asbury Park", che nel corso degli ultimi anni ha visto protagonisti artisti quali Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nile, Jesse Malin, Joe D'Urso, Joe Grushecky, Jakob Dylan, Darlene Love.
Daniele Tenca ha inoltre concluso a Febbraio 2012 la collaborazione con il bluesman sardo Francesco Piu, con il quale ha firmato, come autore dei testi e in parte compositore, 6 dei brani che compongono l'Album di Piu "Ma Moo Tones", prodotto da Eric Bibb.

After the crowd & critics acclaimed "Blues for the Working Class", which got Daniele Tenca and his band into International Blues Challenge 2011 in Memphis (USA) as the only Italian Band, and over 90 gigs in Italy from January 2010 to August 2012 (sharing the same stages with Ana Popovic, Otis Taylor, Johnny Rogers, Robben Ford, Andy J. Forest among others), well represented on cd with "Live for the Working Class", the new Album, WAKE UP NATION, has been released on January, 12th, 2013.
After focusing on health and safety for workers and lack of work with the previous two records, WAKE UP NATION gives a snapshot on these Default-Hard-Times we're all living in, hoping to give a shout and bring people to some kind of reaction, before everything is stolen away by the few Lucky-Ones.
Eight self-written tunes and three covers, from Seasick Steve, Bob Dylan and Eddie Vedder (as a performer), trying to find a way out from this New World Order.
The result is a touching and moving show, that brings the Blues back to its original role of social communication, with the support of a Band who has a great experience backing other international Blues Artists (like Sugar Blue, Arthur Miles, Keisha Jackson, Vanessa Thomas, Jerry Dugger, and Andy J. Forest, with whom the Band recorded the album "Real Stories", winning the 2007 BEST BEAT AWARD in Louisiana as best blues album).
Daniele Tenca performed recently at the legendary "The Stone Pony" in Asbury Park, New Jersey, during Light of Day Asbury Park, and shared the stage at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park with such artists as Darlene Love, Willie Nile, Garland Jeffreys, Jesse Malin, Joe Grushecky; Joe D'Urso.
