Damon Troy & Cheap Shots

Cheap Shots was formed recently from two other groups. Some members from Damon Troy's band Louisiana Beat and some members from The Wade Richard Band. The potential that these musicians posess is immeasurable. The variety of music that they play keeps everybody in the crowd happy. The love that they have for the music shows on their faces and you can feel it in the music. With Damon Troy on the accordian leading the zydeco and two-step part of the show, you also have Wade and Joey Richard, a dynamic father and son duo, singing soul and R&B. Damon and Joey both flip flop throughout the show from guitar to keyboard to lead vocals and about anything else you can imagine. They keep you guessing where they'll be next, and once they get there you're never dissappointed. Wade Richard gives you a taste of the old soul and r&b with a voice as smoothe as silk and guitar playing that only exceeds expectations, and he's also one of the founding fathers of the zydecajun guitar so it's a perfect fit with Damon's style. Mark Miller and Kevin Stelly hold down the bass and rythym sections. These two have been playing together for almost 10 years and it shows when you hear how tight they are together. They really are the best team anyone could ask for. Mark has also set precidents for every other bass player in Louisiana and any bassist you ask will tell you that Mark is one of their bass heroes. Kevin has played with the likes of Rosie Ledet and many other top artist around the Louisiana area, and anyone who has ever played with him will tell you hes not human. The things the guys does with those drums are unreal. You have to see it to believe it. So with musicians like these and a show that will keep you dancing for hours without wanting to stop there's no reason why you shouldn't be at every show. They hope to get a record out shortly of both great classic songs and originals. So keep your eyes out for Cheap Shots coming to a town near you.
