Born & raised in Scott, Louisiana Dustin Ray is a young & very talented musician. He was influeneced by his late father Jeffery Lantier & late great grandfather Leroy Broussard (Songwriter & Accordion player for the "Lemonade Song"). The first instrument he started playing was the drums at the age of nine. 3 years later he decided to try the accordion in memory of his father who was killed in an accident. Dustin started learning everything by ear with the help of his grandfather Gerald Broussard. He encouraged Dustin to practice everyday, & also helped him to learn how to sing in French. At the age of fourteen Dustin started performing in front of crowds, he created his own style while listening to the sounds of Wayne Toups, Belton Richard & Steve Riley just to name a few. He released his first CD "Out da Box" in 2004, selling thousands of copies. Dustin couldn't wait to get back in the studio & start recording the second CD "Southern Groove" which was released in 2007, featuring a special guest Hunter Hayes on Lead & Rhythm guitar. This album is a mixture of Cajun, Swamp Pop, Country, Blues, Rock N Roll & a little R&B altogether. Dustin has come a long way & has worked hard with his band members to keep his dream alive. He loves his fans, without them he wouldn't be successful with his career. Dustin will continue to make music & go on playing for years to come. So if you ever get a chance to check out one of his shows, you will enjoy the excitement of the crowd & great performance that Dustin Ray & Southern Groove brings to the stage each night they perform.
