DAKU

Daku has the balance between commercial sensibility and street credibility something rarely seen in independent Canadian hip-hop. Born in Toronto, Canada, raised in Rexdale, Daku (Aman Sangha) , has been making music since the age of 14. Daku initially found his passion for music when he began rapping at a young age recording on a karaoke machine he made music on cassettes. As time progressed so did his music and recording equipment, allowing him to develop his skills and within a couple of years had begun making mixtapes under his independent label Dakumentary Entertainment. Daku had a raw rap style and was into battling with other MC's inspired by Can-I-Bus and the late greats Big L , Big Pun , Tupac and B.I.G Daku's lyrical and musical skills have developed over the years and his transition from an amateur emcee to a professional lyricist has been the force behind his drive to get to where he needs in order to succeed in the music industry. His ability to capture an audience's attention and keep it, whether it is through a stereo, or a live performance, is a rare find in many of today's independent musical acts. Unlike many unsigned acts that get into the studio and simply rap, Daku makes music. This energetic, exciting young performer, has a great command for the stage, realizes the value of having a strong fan base and is frantically working on making it larger, "Without fans their is no show". Daku's rhymes that flow from the heart with street sense, compassion, and danger, are a reflection of his real life experiences making the music even more special. Expectations for Daku's new "DAK-WHO" mix tape are extremely high, as well as the anticipation of his growing number of fans.
