Elegy Cycle: no.1 Elegy to Terrorism Victims - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 06, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
This Elegy Cycle has no connection with any political, religious or racial group and neither does it seek to support any such organisations. It is purely a humanistic comment on the unrest and cruelty which results from mans in-humanity towards his fellow man. The Elegy Cycle is dedicated to all peoples without distinction or discrimination for is there really any difference between the suffering of the parent of a murdered child in Palestine or the loss of entire families and communities as a result of the Holocaust in Europe? This cycle is my personal attempt to provide some space for us all to remember our own humanity and to reflect on the consequences of what happens when this humanity becomes confused or lost.

As a teenager I dreamt of a beautiful world where children were unaware of the tears of suffering and flowers seemed never to die. I dreamt of a world that knew nothing of hatred or war. Mine was a world in which no one was hungry and everyone lived in a place that they were able to call their home. People lived lives that were free form oppression and tyranny and instead lived lives filled with love, compassion and joy.

Today I still dream of this word and truly believe that it can become a reality if we are both prepared and willing to learn from what had gone before. Whilst listening to my composition I invite you to pause and reflect on what are arguably some of the bleakest events in our history. But I also ask that after you have listened you will join with me in committing yourself to making the dreams I had a reality for our future.

Thank you for sharing in these dreams
