Naples's Rap_0001.wmv - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 23, 2008
DESCRIPTION:
It all started with a funky rhythm pattern. I had no intentions of writing a song, but the smooth minor changes and the crunchy bass line led me to a new musical journey.
I added some guitar riffs and gave the whole song a structure. The song was basically recorded, but it had no vocals. A frustrating situation when you have a song and you can't find the right words for it.
I read an article about the trash situation in Naples, Italy. I thought well that could be a story.
So I took a pinch of subtle irony, added some cynicsm and voilĂ  the birth was initiated:
---
I'm inside a public litter can
I feel at home
I'm the city man
I can
I puked last night
It wasn't bad
The garbage food was all I had
I had
---

I grabbed the mike and began to exploit my voice. It sounded horrible. The key was too high and the voice too thin. I rejected my plans, changed it to an instrumental project and tuned my brown sunburst Ibanez George
Benson GB10 BS to solve the situation.
But where's the RAP?
The song title was definite, I simply liked it. An original article from Naples, dealing with the trash problems suddenly hit my eyes. Five beautiful words, that would fit and sound perfectly into the last six
bars, to accomplish my goals:
"Spazzatura ai lati delle strade" which means "garbage on the side of the road".
I love Italy!
