Criminal Side

La band Bolognese nasce nel 2004 da un'idea di Lorenzo Sighinolfi e Enrico Berti,
entrambi chitarristi, che assieme ad altri musicisti formano i primi Criminal Side,
originalmente ispirati a Metallica e Slayer.
Nel 2006 la band trova finalmente una
formazione stabile ed affiatata: Alex Gaiani (ora Disease Illusion) entra come
batterista, Sighi abbandona la chitarra (sostituito da "Leo" Rella) per dedicarsi alla
voce, Lorenzo Truppi al basso. La band inizia a scrivere i propri pezzi e ad
esibirsi in sempre più numerosi Live Show, fino a quando non sente la necessità
di registrare il primo EP, "Abyss of Humanity" 2007. Iniziano così le collaborazioni
con alcune delle più rilevanti band Emiliane che permettono ai Criminal Side di
esibirsi nei maggiori locali della scena Metal Bolognese. Nel 2008 Leo abbandona
per motivi personali e viene sostituito da Luca Paolini; tra i 2 nuovi chitarristi si crea subito un'alchimia e la band compone nuovi pezzi con nuove influenze,
iniziando a trovare la propria personalità. Agli inizi del 2009 Alex lascia la band per
dedicarsi ai Disease Illusion, Truppi decide così di abbandonare il basso e sostituire Alex alla batteria; Arash Saboori invece diventa il nuovo bassista.
L'approccio tecnico ed estremo di Truppi come batterista completa e definisce
lo stile dei nuovi Criminal Side, che si muovono verso un Thrash/Death con influenze "Arabesche" molto personali: è perciò chiara a tutti la necessità di
tornare in studio per registrare il secondo EP "Slaves of Time", uscito il 19 Febbraio2010. Ora la band sta lavorando sul nuovo materiale!



The band was born in Bologna (Italy) in 2004 as an idea of Lorenzo Sighinolfi
and Enrico Berti, both guitarists, that with other musicians will form Criminal Side,
originally inspired by Metallica and Slayer. In 2006 the band finally finds a
stable and tight line-up: Alex Gaiani (now in Disease Illusion) on drums, Sighi
leaves his guitar duties (replaced by "Leo" Rella) to concentrate solely on vocals
and Lorenzo Truppi (already drummer in a lot of bands) on bass. The band
starts writing their own material and performing at various concerts, until they
feel the necessity to record their first EP, "Abyss of Humanity" in 2007.
Collaborations with some of the most important bands in Emilia Romagna allow
the band to play around the most important venues of the Bolognese area.
In 2008 Leo leaves the band for personal reasons, and is replaced by Luca Paolini;
between the 2 guitarists a new type of alchemy is born and the band starts writing
new material with new influences, thus starting to find their own personality as
a band. At the beginning of 2009 Alex leaves the band to dedicate his time to
Disease Illusion, and Truppi decides to replace him as a drummer, recruiting
Ash Saboori as new bassplayer. Truppi's extreme and technical approach to
drumming completes and defines Criminal Side's new style, Thrash/Death with
very personal "Arabesque" influences: it is clear that the band needs to go back
in the studio to record their second EP "Slaves of Time", which was released on
19 FEB 2010.Now the band is writing new songs!
