DESCRIPTION:
Here's Sia live at Terminal 5, NYC on May 6, 2010 for the We Meaning You tour.

Yes kids, I finally watched the awesomeness that is Sia. Oh yes, I pre-ordered my ticket some 20+ odd years ago while I was still a fetus, rocking the walkman in my mum's womb. Yep, I've anticipated this show that long. And boy, the feeling of being THISCLOSE to her at the front row felt surreal.

How could one not love Sia? That may seem a rhetorical question if truth be told. She donned a plastic ruffle dress and entered the stage with a lighted technicolor "beak" on her forehead. She does know how to make an entrance, that girl. The moment she opens her mouth to belt out a weepy or a bouncy song, one is bound to be blown away by the sheer force of her vocals. I don't think she is even aware of the magnitude of her talent and how she's able to affect her captive audience. Her eternally bubbly and quirky personality will make you feel compelled to hug this adorable creature and wish she really were your friend. I can't thank her enough for calling out the security from letting us film her. She seriously made my night easier.

One of the personal highlights for me on this night was during in-between song banter when Sia collected gifts from the audience, I managed to give her my umbrella. Her expression when I handed it to her was fucking priceless. I guess she found it funny and what do you know, she performed Big Girl, Little Girl whilst carrying the umbrella I gave her. Hellfuckingyea!

This concert sits mighty high on my most memorable list. Sure, there were some who somehow tainted a perfectly good song of hers that must be listened to in utter silence--I swear, the karmic power of ruining it will get you one day. You may hear me cursing them, and rightfully so. But yeah, all in all, it was a damn good one. I'm definitely willing to travel the world and watch her perform a thousand times over and be awed every single night.

And oh, way to do the encore with a bubble machine!

Here's the set list:

Big Girl, Little Girl (whilst carrying the umbrella I gave her! Oyeah, I can't get over it)
