Jazz Fusion Metal - Nods of Rapture - Feat Josh Middleton (Drum Cam) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 12, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
This little song is a sort of homage to mid-90s Meshuggah. I love the drum work, guitar playing, the higher tuning, and the fusion feel of songs like Gods of Rapture and I wanted to create something similar. If you haven't heard Meshuggahs first 3 records definitely check them out.

I obviously once again needed someone to shred in a fusion style and once again that person is Josh Middleton of Sylosis. The guy is an absolute monster player and puts up with my extreme ADHD while we're tracking guitar. I just like to touch all the things in his studio.

This video is the first I've recorded since joining the guys at CRUSH DRUMS. I will be using this acrylic kit live, and a Sublime E3 for the studio and teaching. I can't get over the sound of these drums!

Heads are Evans g2 with a SD dry on top. Kick is an emad with the smaller ring.

There is no triggering on this recording. What you hear is this kit!

Cymbals L to R are all Meinl:
14" byzance extra dry hats
