The original name of this beautiful tune is "Winchester Old", written by George Kirbye and first published in Este's Psalter in 1592. This is the version most often sung in the UK, with music and words first paired in the 1861 publication "Hymns Ancient and Modern".

From the book "Christmas Concertina" for Anglo concertina, p.109, and played on a 30-button C/G Anglo concertina made by Harold Herrington. To hear more tunes from the book, check out the "Christmas Concertina" playlist at www.youtube/anglonc.

For more information on playing the Anglo with chords and accompaniments, see "Anglo Concertina in the Harmonic Style", also by Gary Coover.
