Fifty Heads Wide - Counterfeit - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 12, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Lancaster based band Fifty Heads Wide existed from 1996 to around 2001, taking their name from the lyrics of the Ruby song 'Parafin'. Formed by ex-members of the band Phobophilia, their brand of experimental music drew comparisons to the likes of early Radiohead, dEUS, Sonic Youth, Pixies, Mogwai, Yo La Tengo yet always consistently managed to push musical boundries. Guitarist Steve Wade went on to form The Adventures of Loki in 2003 with ex members of fellow Lancaster band Angelica. They have since split in early 2010. Pete Rawlinson went on to form surf/rockabilly band The 3 Ages of Elvis, until their disbandment in late 2009. He has continued to venture with his solo project Little Hero, and has recently formed the Garage rock band Joyeux, as well as joining Lancaster drone/psyche rockers The Three Dimensional Tanx on guitar in 2010. Brian Pugh went on to play with a number of local bands including metallers Sorrows Fall. Tony Holt launched the Drumtuna brand of drum tuning gauges in 2010, and currently plays with Shropshire based Dirty Frank.
