Rackhouse Pilfer formed in early 2012 by the fireside of McGarrigles bar Sligo, performing an acoustic set of bluegrass and folk hits of the past from their favourite Americana bands and artists. It wasn't long until they had to be plugged in to be heard with the demand of the session growing in popularity in Sligo town. Since then the 6 members of Rackhouse Pilfer have been on the musical journey of their lives. They've performed at some of Irelands biggest festivals and venues including the world famous Omagh folk park bluegrass festival, Body and Soul, Sligo live 2012, Monaghan blues festival, Whelans, Monroes, Crane lane and also took off on their first European tour this past summer performing at festivals in France, Italy and Switzerland. March of 2013 saw them release their debut album "Back to the country" at the Model arts centre Sligo, filling the venue to capacity and insuring a night that will go down in Sligo's musical legend. Their album was warmly received by critics, Americana UK magazine gave them 7/10 for their first offering. The Rackhouse boys are returning to the studio this autumn to record their second album, this time of all original material with the help of London based producer Tom McFall. They hope to have the album available early 2014 which is sure to set up another very exciting year for this Sligo band.
