PASSING TIME, The Cookies, Atlantic #1084 1956
Flipside: IN PARADISE -- Here is another great uncharted song from my collection. The Cookies, a trio from Brooklyn, NY, had their recording debut in 1954 with DON'T LET GO/ALL NIGHT MAMBO on Lamp #8008 with no commercial success. They were signed to Atlantic Records in 1955 by producer/songwriter Jesse Stone.

PASSING TIME was co-written by iconic singer/songwriter Neil Sedaka and was released again in 1960 on Atlantic #2079.

The Cookies began recording sessions behind Tony Orlando and Neil Sedaka among others, began recording demos and were becoming an integral part of Aldon Music. Then came the big hit for them written by Gerry Goffin & his wife Carole King: DON'T SAY NOTHING BAD (ABOUT MY BABY.) It was recorded by new members on Dimension #1008 and charted nationally on Billboard in April, 1963 for 13 weeks and reached #7.
