DESCRIPTION:
Continental Robert and Tanya Lee Davies I Can't Stand It Perth Blues Club 06.08.13!

Robert Susz is a national treasure, or he should be. One of the true soul survivors, he's celebrating 30 plus years of performing soul, blues and down home funk with his Soul Party.

One of Australia's most soulful singers and legendary harmonica players, Conti's onstage presence is high energy in the tradition of the US old soul revues from the late 60s.

He is joined by Tanya-Lee Davies who hails from Perth but is now based in Melbourne. The songs of Irma Thomas, Betty Everett, Ruth Brown, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and many unsung heroines form the foundation of a smokin' repertoire. Tanya-Lee has whipped up many a crowd into a gospel/soul fever from the east to west coasts of Australia as well as many states of America, the home of her musical lineage, and rocked the Kasbah when she toured the Middle East.

After performing together over the last few years, Tanya-Lee and Conti decided to get hitched, that is sonically. It was time to take the next step in their musical love-in and go on the road.

It's a man's world but it would be nothing without a woman or a show girl, so in the tradition of ladies going first, Tanya-Lee opens the proceedings with gems from her favorite girls of the R&B /soul persuasion.

Robert then makes the earth move performing treasures from the soul/R&B vaults from greats including James Brown, Ray Charles, Curtis Mayfield, Muddy Waters and Junior Walker as well as his national smash hit Soul Kind Of Feelin' from his time as front man of The Dynamic Hepnotics.

Once she has recovered from the mojo that Robert spins, Tanya-Lee will pull herself together and join him onstage where they recreate the magic of those boy/girl duos ala Betty Everett and Jerry Butler, Etta James and Harvey Fuqua, Mickey and Sylvia.

Joined on stage for this particular event at the Perth Blues Club by Dave Brewer who for over three decades has been the backbone for many of Australia's most seminal acts (including The Elks, The Dynamic Hepnotics, The Mighty Reapers and the Catholics) and has played with some of the most respected musicians on the planet.

Wayne Freer (bass, tuba, trombone etc) is a musician of choice for many local and visiting acts. The tall quiet guy at the back, brings a wealth of talent to any performance.
