Breakfast With My Shadow - Cloud Cult (Unplug: 2014) - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 07, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Cloud Cult released their first ever acoustic album -- "Unplug" -- on Earthology Records on April 15th, 2014. "Breakfast With My Shadow" is the 2nd track on the album and is accompanied by a dynamic range of newly orchestrated favorites from the band's critically acclaimed discography. Dubbed "insane genius" by Pitchfork and in the top ten artists of the decade from the Denver Post, Cloud Cult continues to push forward with the band's new album "Unplug".

The new full length record comes on the heels of Cloud Cult's early 2013 release-- "Love" -- which debuted in the Top 50 of the Billboard 200 and resulted in the majority of the band's 2013 tour dates selling out.

Over the past fifteen years, Cloud Cult has remained completely independent. They've sold more than 100,000 albums via their own label, Earthology Records, which was created by lead singer and songwriter Craig Minowa in the late 90's. The label pioneered some of the environmentally friendly manufacturing practices widely used today.

In addition to becoming known for their eco-friendly practices and music, the band's live shows have become legendary emotionally charged performances accompanied by live painting on stage. Cloud Cult's live shows feature a full band complete with violin, cello, trumpet,
trombone and French horn.

"Unplug" was recorded, produced and mixed by Jeff D. Johnson who has been doing Cloud Cult's live sound for the past seven years. The album was then mastered by Jeff Lipton (Bon Iver, Arcade Fire) at Peerless Mastering in Boston.

While the songs were all pulled from the band's existing discography, the versions on "Unplug" are quite different than the album versions. In
addition, "Unplug" is the band's tenth full-length release and first live album. The album is supported by a full national tour and the band's live European debut.
