Nerak Roth Patterson Band - YouTube - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 25, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
I have known Roth since about 1990. We met on a bandstand in Portland Oregon. In addition to being a Blues musician, he was (and still is) a Class-8 Truck Operator. Back when I was driving Porsche's, I would often give him a ride to the various freight terminals he had to go to where he had tractors and loads waiting for him. He commented on how I matched gears and asked if I ever thought about getting my CDL. Well, the rest is history and I still maintain it to this day, replete with most every endorsement you can have. At any rate, a few times we ran team on the West Coast (Portland to Seattle and back. We also played a lot of music together and that is our common bond. Then too every now and then he would call me and ask me to help him do a "reset" on his band.

Since I grew up in recording studios and stages as a kid (both of my parents were/are conservatory trained musicians), I understood his reasoning, without questioning it. Prior to my flying out to Ohio in August of 2012 for this segment of the festival, I had not seen Roth since 1997, just before I left Portland, Oregon and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. So this was a most auspicious occasion and while I could shoot the sound-man for such horrible microphone settings (I carry my own pro-microphone an ElectroVoice, to ensure the very best in live recording applications, assuming we have someone who knows what they are doing at the soundboard.) Still, for the most part, yours truly manages to punch through. I did not have the opportunity to rehearse with Roth's band. However, having played in Blues and Jazz groups for years, on paper it was agreed that not having a rehearsal would not be a problem and thankfully, it was not. Between being a full-time student and work, I really do not have as much time for music. Hopefully, once school is done and I have worked out where and what I will be doing thereafter, I will be able to once again dedicate some time to "wood-shedding" and get back to recording and doing the occasional "hand picked" gig. Incidentally, there are four guitarists I really enjoy, Roth Patterson, Gary Moore (deceased), SRV (deceased), and Andy Timmons from Texas. (I left B.B. out because of how he has blocked Roth from enjoying the level of success he is rightfully entitled to and because B.B.'s entourage is comprised of prolific users of Cocaine, Crack, et al. Hence, I have no longer have respect for the man. I also believe B.B. is a reverse-racist because I only seem him support Blues performers who are NOT Black (e.g. Gary Moore and "Stevie Ray"), which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Setting the aforementioned aside, I do acknowledge that if it were not for B.B. King, I would not have been so appreciative of the interpretive ability and technique Roth brings to the world of Blues. I also recognize no one is perfect. However, when you hold someone in such high-esteem and then learn they are no longer "the real deal," then you have to "tell it like it is." B.B. it is time for you to call it a day, and give all your illegal narcotic using sycophants/entourage their "pink slips." The best you can hope for is to confess your sins to God, apologize to the public for promoting a less than savory image for the business of professional entertainment, and apologize to Roth for not supporting him in his bid bring great Blues music to the world. Your day of judgment is near. If it were me, I would make sure I have all my worldly (and spiritual) affairs in order.

When B.B. passes, Roth is the rightful heir (at the risk of sounding opinionated) to being the next "King of the Blues." At the end of the day Gibson guitars and Roth Patterson go together like "peas and carrots."

I sincerely hope you enjoy this video. Chances are based on what is happening here in the States and abroad that the video you are about to see (or are watching) is the last time Roth and I will have performed on the same bandstand together. I hope I am wrong. However, the Intel I have been disseminating paints a dark picture insofar as being able to move about freely within the interior of these uNITED sTATES.

Today, the U.S. Government has decided the following people are now domestic terrorists: Veterans, Returning veterans, reservists, Christians, persons who are Pro-Life and people who are pro Constitution and pro Bill of Right, et al. But, as long as most of us have enough money to buy beer and pay for our access to the NFL, NBA, Baseball, Hockey, et al, few seem to care.) In the mean time DHS purchased over two billion rounds of jacketed hollow-point (such rounds are not for target practice like DHS and the media are saying. Those rounds are designed to KILL people and are in violation of the Geneva Convention. DHS just ordered 2,700 MRAP's (Mine Resistant/AmbushProof/Armor Plated) vehicles. 15 members of Congress are asking DHS why it is up-armoring to go into battle with American citizens. So far (as of this writing) DHS is not forthcoming
