Christina Bodmer

Hi There! I'm ging to write my little bio in first person. My name is Vanessa Bodmer. I was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Southern, MD. I come from a Colombian father of Swiss heritage and a Puerto Rican mother. Being the youngest of 5 children, I grew up in a home with diverse music. I just started singing for fun when I was 2. I attended a performing arts school, where I started singing in a choir at the age of 8 years old. There I really learned how to harmonize. I also took piano lessons at the age of 7 and learned how to improvise. I continued singing in choirs until my college years, where I was then classicaly trained. I enjoy singing all genres including pop, opera, r&b, jazz, latin, and broadway. I began writing music when she was 12 and continue to write my own material.
I've had several great opportunities to sing the National Anthem as sporting events as well as the White House. I was able to sing at P-Diddy's restauant "Justins" in NYC and was a semi fanalist for Making of the Band with P-Diddy Season 1. I had the the opportunity to open for salsa legend Gilberto Santa Rosa in Washington DC and with Tito Puente Jr. I've performed on local DC Metropolitian Channel MHZ Hot and have sung live on the radio stations thorugh out the DC Metropolitian area. I'm very ambitious and have taken every opportunity such as auditioning for American Idol multiple times and making it past a few rounds. I have recorded with several producers such as Robert Jazayeri (who created hits for Britney Spears, Garbage, and M2M), Sean Mather (who created hits for All Saints, Salt N Peppa, and EnVogue), and Grammy winning producer Frankie Biggz.
Right now I'm working on an independent project and am in the process of recording my first EP. I'm hoping to have it completed in 2012.
