"Winona Ryder" is a beautiful psychedelic waltz featured on DC Fontana's debut album 'Six Against Eight' & was the first track the group recorded using orchestral strings.

Collaborating with German classical music guru Christian Badzura of Deutsche Gramophon, who scored, arranged & conducted the orchestral parts, "Winona" was recorded at the world famous Parr Street Studios in Liverpool, England.

It was originally sung in English by Karla Milton & a second version, re-titled "Le Voyage de Winona" featured Italian chanteuse Kicca Andriollo on lead vocals & sung in French.

The French version appears on the limited edition 'La Contessa' album.

Both versions are produced by former Julian Cope guitarist Donald Ross Skinner who also features heavily on the recording, playing organ, piano & autoharp as well as singing backing vocals.

The song was written by original DC Fontana guitarist Neil Jones and originated early in the band's career as a noisy over-driven heavy guitar track.

But the track was radically re-sculpted for the group's debut record.

The song also features a contribution from Italian keyboard player Oscar Marchioni.

Both albums are released by DCTone Records Ltd and can be bought from www.dcfontana.com/shop.

The two versions of the song can also be bought from all reputable download sites (iTunes, Amazon etc).
