On October 31, 1983 The Cheepskates, a four-piece group which spawned from the Garage/Psychedelic movement of the time, performed two forty-five minute sets while doing a three camera shoot at a midtown Manhattan nightclub named The Dive. You can view a short preview of this footage below or by clicking on: View My Videos. One song from this performance, an original tune titled "Big Bad World" is featured in the just released "Knights of Fuzz" DVD compilation along with many other bands from the same era. You may request a three-song DVD demo that has been circulating within the Garage/Psych community from the website:

CheepskatesMovie.com. The site documents this show as well as future plans to release the footage which is currently being edited.

It also features stories about The Dive and some of the mayhem that took place there.

The five audio tracks listed above are selections from recently discovered live material that is currently being mastered. Though the band would evolve through personnel changes over the years, this site will concentrate on the original line-up which lasted from the fall of 1982 to the summer of 1985, and reunited for the inaugural "Cavestomp" show held in October of 1997, and also the "Knights of Fuzz" CD Rom release party in October of 2001, both held in New York City. The Cheepskates first album, titled "Run Better Run" as well as the rest of their catalog, is available at all major online music retailers. You can get more information on the website.
