- Always performing a few instrumental before bringing up Wayne Cochran to the bandstand, the Riders frequently opened with the chart "Ming Of Mings." This was the first thing Jocko heard when he went to scope out the band in consideration of joining. His comment on the way home that night was, "I need to start writing," "i've got work to do." It was hearing the C.C. Roders perform Charlie Brent's music that inspired Jocko to start writing.
