About Charansalsa
The band was founded in 2006 when Joe de Jesus returned from living in Europe with the concept of Charansalsa in mind. After playing and recording with a number of greats from Latin music including, Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Charlie Palmieri and many more legends, Pito Castillo and Joe de Jesus bring you Charansalsa, a band and a concept for dancing and enjoying Salsa and Charanga at its finest. With the instrumentation of a Cuban orchestra (flute, strings and rhythm section) but influenced by modern Salsa with its more modern Jazz harmony and rhythmical signature, injecting new life into a traditional sound, Charansalsa took to the stage; audiences young and old have been enjoying their music ever since. Charansalsa, a classic sound with a modern Salsa twist.
