---- The Story Behind The Song ----
I had fun making this relaxing composition. I used a simple melody, with small variations. The Harp is an instrument with such a beautiful sound and it brings out so much emotions. I initially had strings in this piece, but opted out and replaced it with Woodwinds. I felt that Flutes, Clarinet and even Oboe captured the 'forest' feel, if that makes any since. It transported me to another place and time.
As for the title, 'The Spirit of the Forest', it is referring to what some of the Celtic Pagan path call the Horned God or Cernunnos. He is the mostly viewed as the God of Nature. The Art, by the wonderful Sandara really spoke to me. I felt that the Dragon, hidden in the forest, depicted a higher spirit of Nature and the stag worked amazingly well. The Stag is sometimes connected to The Horned God. I felt that these two elements really conveyed the over-all tone , I wanted this piece to be about.
