THE KITTEN & THE CAT, RALPH STANLEY & LARRY SPARKS - Video

DESCRIPTION:
THE HILLS OF HOME,

After the death of Carter Stanley in 1966, bluegrass fans were thrilled when Ralph Stanley quickly established a brand new dynamic band to carry on the Stanley sound. The group included Ralph Stanley, George Shuffer, Curly Ray Cline and a brilliant young singer Larry Sparks. They cut just 3 albums fopr King. Though not perfect by any means, the King LPs contained some great moments. An interesting & important recording.
Ralph Stanley said of Curly Ray, at Curly Ray's funeral: "He plays the fiddle sort of the way I play the banjo, he plays it the way he feels it."
