Cathy Carroll - The Young Ones (1962) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 15, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Cathy appeared on Mike Warren's "Connecticut Bandstand Show" on WNHC-TV to promote this record. She was also a judge of a Twist contest held at Hartford Armory in East Hartford. Winners were given autographed singles of this record. This song became a hit for Cliff Richard. I have read that Cathy's was the original, but wasn't released until the movie was already out. Did not chart nationally, but it did chart locally in the Top 40 in Springfield, Massachusetts in March 1962, the Top 50 in San Francisco, California and the Top 20 in Syracuse, New York.

Original Billboard review: Four stars. "Attractive tune from the flick of the same name is handed a solid reading by the lass over strong backing by the ork. Ballad has a teen message and side is worth exposure."
