I was born in 1978 and raised in Montreal city, grew up in the downtown projects called - Les Habitations Jeanne-Mance – I was introduced to the rap music in the early 90’s with artist like Erik B and Rakim, Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth, Gangstarr, EPMD, Leaders of the new school, Fat Joe, LL cool J, Public Enemy, N.W.A. and a lot more…, if you know your’e history you know that I’m from one of the last generation to actually care about this real hip hop shit! I little bit after around 1994 it was the art of graffiti and that’s where the name Cast camed from!! I got up bombing all city with ATC, FUK, JKR my man Stack, Zeck, 2Sai, shhh can’t mention everyone and then I got busted a few times so I calmed down on the bombing!! But my love for hip hop was just getting started!! After a few years of up to no good makin money however i can, hustlin’ i was hangin around guy’s like Ray Ray, SP and a bunch of other people more involve in the rap scene here in Real-city, so i started to make beats!! and with some time i got good at it! My first beat out was in 2001 - Petit Garçon - on Les Architekts classic album Le Plan! After that in 2003 I co-produced with my man 2sai 7 tracks for the Répliques aux offusqués classic album from Sans Pression wich is to this day, one of the best hip hop album to come out of Quebec!! And during all that time I was also working on producing shows and tours for local and international artist like La Garde (Shurik’n(IAM) and Faf Larage), Freeman(IAM) and Karim le roi, brooklyn’s own M.O.P., Fonky Family, SAT (FF) and for the locals Sans Pression, Les Architekts and more. In 2004 me and SP decided to start 13 Deep records our own record label !!after a lot of hard work and a few sharks in the industry try to fuck it all up!! We got it together and manage to get a few grant’s to help out start the business like ; La fondation du Maire de Montréal pour la jeunesse, RESO et SAJE Montréal-Métro wich allowed us to buy enough studio gear to have a dope studio to record final vocals!! Then we got the distribution deal with DEP and released the first real project from our group called Treizième Étage, L’asphalte dans mon district wich i did 8 beats on, is one of 2006 best sellin hiphop album in Québec, In 2006 I also produced a 2 dates tour with Psy 4 de la rime and Treizième Étage wich where both sold out in MTL and Quebec city!! As far as booking shows i must have booked over 300 shows over the years across the province of Quebec including some in the biggest Festival happening in La belle province!!! As far as beatmakin I collaborated with artist like : Sans Pression, Cobna, Treizième Étage, Patsy Gallant (the queen of disco), Segnor Alonzo (Psy 4 de la rime), Von Von le Vet, Imposs (Muzion), Joe B.G., Mickey Dangerous, Taktika, 83, Shoody, Gundei, Maestro Fresh Wes, Loe Pesci and Narcicyst, OL1KU, Justice, Mic chek, Jay Jay, Bless, Ushallah, Les Architekts, SAGI, Nevro and a lot lot more in the process to come!!! Sorry if I forgot anyone it’s about 4 in tha morning!!
For 2007 I would say that there is a good year ahead of us lots of projects, concerts, tours, and international opportunity’s so keep an eye open for 13 Deep records cause I ain’t sleepin, this Internet shit is fuckin up the record sales but we will use it to our advantage!
