The Carolina’s rebirth began in 2003 as powerful new artist J-Khrist moved to the center stage. Born on February 11, 1984 in the heart of one of New York ’s most famed boroughs "Brooklyn", his family relocated to North Carolina when he was young. His mother young herself thought that getting him out of the city at a young age would lessen his chances of getting into trouble but as time went on his passion for luxury items such as foreign cars by the time he was seventeen and being on first name bases with chef’s at some of the finest restaurants in North Carolina started the legacy that has yet to be told about North Carolina. His style of rhyme was created by a hard driven hustle, his surroundings, experiences and the willingness to be on top. He is truly an artist that has created a widespread fan base from the streets to the radio with his signature voice. An innovator in fashion and style J does everything in a big way. He can take responsibility for a lot of fashion trends that have hit the Carolina’s, he has single handedly changed the way people look at style in the state by being a leader in fashion. J has been credited as one of the main reasons some of the boutiques (Casanova, Baggio, Mo’s, Dr. Styles) in Carolina’s are able to generate such enormous sales. You may be wondering what’s up with his name. It’s probably not what you think. The J is for his name Jesse and the explanation of KHRIST is simple.

KHRIST (Christ) means messiah, the one everyone is waiting for. We are not at all saying that he is in the same light as Jesus Christ and he is not trying to offend anyone, he is only speaking in the composition of music. Although there has been some great success by a few other artists from the Carolina’s, none of them are as multi-talented, Omni-dimensional as he is. It’s guaranteed that once you get past his name and get deeper into the passion of his lyrics and life experiences you’ll see that you’ve been waiting for him too, in a way of persuing and receiving classic legendary music.



So what does he sound like and what possibly could he talk about that you haven’t heard? That’s easy; his sound is unlike no other with an outlook of the gritty hustler street life of North Carolina and without any uncertainty in his speech or structure he delivers only a message of someone who has been through it and can talk about. He is like a breath of fresh air when he brings to life his struggle in the dynamic way that only he can from his real life experiences.

His life hasn't been easy and the loss of close relatives at a very young age made him distant and has given him a nonchalant attitude towards a lot of things in life, but he knows the good music sells records. He feels it is his job to keep his music as real as possible so that his peers and the people who deal with the real life struggles understand that he is a product of the same environment that they deal with everyday.

After a few close encounters with the law, he decided that enough was enough and put his drive, hustle and ambition into a positive outlet that could bring him real success and value. Finding comfort in music helped him develop his swag, style, and charisma. J-KHRIST first album, entitled “A Hustla’s Dream” which is a street classic album in the Carolina’s. He has sold a great amount of CD’s independently… this album introduces the world to J-Khrist, it can also be found on I Tunes. Rhapsody, Ngrooves and other online purchasing sites. The first single from that album, Swagga Back has tracked over 150 spins regionally in just three months and was picked up for promotion by MC Serch and Serchlightmusic. The cellular ring tone for the single was negotiated and was available on carriers in July of 2006.  J Khrist was the first independent artist in Carolina’s to sign an independent Ring Tone deal. He is unique and undeniable which is why he can always be picked to win.  J-Khrist has also been featured on many other mix tapes and has continuous radio airplay throughout the Carolina ’s with bds/media base tracking.  He is currently working on his second album A Hustla’s Dream PT.2, which features the smash new single “Money” and he does not plan on stopping anytime soon.  J-Khrist will definitely be one to look out for in the near future.
