Al McLean and Carlos Jimenez make an encore performance in this spellbinding duo performance of Jobim's A Felicidade. Alone in the foyer of The Segal Centre for Performing Arts, the duo's smooth Samba ticks along as if there were a complete rhythm section. McLean is heard here on alto sax, an instrument on which he conjures the spirit of Sonny Stitt and Canonball Adderly. He is playing a period instrument that was meticulously restored for this recording; a 1924 Conn New Wonder saxophone.
