This is a tribute to the first Carcass album, entitled Reek Of Putrefction. While being one of the most influential recordings in modern music, it is still sadly underrated, even in the anals of extreme music.

After recording a couple of demos and thinning out it's lineup, ex-Napalm Deaath guitarist Bill Steer, Electro Hippies bassist Jeff Walker and drummer Ken Owen entered the studio with the intention of creating a full-on assault of revolting sonic gore. The resulting album, Reek Of Putrefaction, was released in 1988 and was all at once shocking, nauseating and completely unreal.

Carcass continued to evolve as a band and eventually made an incredible impact on the metal scene of the early 90's, but this first work of primitive grinding racket deserves it's rightful due as one of the most innovative recordings of our time.
