DESCRIPTION:
I am in love with the magical place I get to live right now.  I have a tiny beach house with billowing white curtains, a block away from the water.  It’s a special living situation that fell right into my lap, from some new friends here and I’m so grateful.  My mom and sisters came to visit and surprise me for the show I opened for Cody Lovaas at the Carlsbad Village Theatre (the live Song, “Beautiful Mind” is from that show).  Anyway, after taking them paddle boarding on the beautiful Pacific, and walking through the dreamy neighborhood they turned to me and said, “you live in a fantasy land”.  It’s true.  When I dropped them off at the airport, I came home and jumped back in the ocean.  I came home, started a song, had a couple glasses of wine, took a walk around the neighborhood again, and took in the whole dynamic of a small town.  All the locals grew up together.  The town gossip still flies free, there’s game nights on Wednesdays at a house on the beach, and everybody knows everybody.  It all struck me at once so I ran home to write it.  Enjoy.
