Founded in 1997 as a thirty-strong conducted Jazz ensemble, Cadenza became a smaller, close-harmony a cappella group in 2002. Since then, the group has had a number of critically acclaimed successes, winning the Voice Festival UK University Championships in 2011, and coming first in the Cambridge A Cappella Competition 2015. 

In the past year, Cadenza hosted the amazing Vanderbilt Melodores from the US in a sold-out joint concert, and were Voice Festival UK Finalists in 2016, coming away with an award for Outstanding Musicality in the semi-finals, as well as the award for Outstanding Arrangement for their chilling version of Hide and Seek in the final.
