DESCRIPTION:
Meet Bushra El-Turk, Streetwise Opera Composer in Residence for Middlesbrough (2016-17). Bushra is working with Streetwise Opera’s performers to create a new 3-5 minute chorus inspired by Britten's canticle, ‘Abraham and Isaac’. Her new composition will be performed at a Middlesbrough Opera Hour in early 2017 and Streetwise Opera 15th anniversary celebration in London in summer 2017.

Streetwise Opera is an award-winning charity that uses music to help people make positive changes in their lives. Working with people who have experienced homelessness and other members of the community, it runs music workshops across England, and stages critically-acclaimed opera productions.
