DESCRIPTION:
Tulsa's own GAP Band, who burned up the charts by taken over airwaves of radio stations across the nation in the 1980's, with such hits as You Dropped a Bomb me, honored their community by way of naming their band. In the early 1970's, the young musicians' original name was, The Greenwood, Archer and Pine Street Band. Due to a lack of space on a poster, the promoter shortened the band's name to G.A.P. Band and the rest is history.
