DESCRIPTION:
The first-ever filmed collaboration between students in the United States and the former Soviet Union, Bridge/MOCT (MOCT means bridge in Russian) is the 1988 music video for the song, "Bridges of Trust" originally performed by Russian composer, Vladimir Kopisov, and the American band, Collective Vision, during the 1987 Peace March from Leningrad to Moscow.

The film interprets the song as a story about a young boy who dares to look beyond the boundaries set by an older generation, to dream of a voyage to America where he might meet and befriend someone who, like himself, is willing to take a chance, let go of the fears and prejudices of yesterday, and hold open the window to a better tomorrow.

The film premiered in Chicago in October of 1988 and went on to win a College Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and a CINE-Eagle Award from the Council on International Non-theatrical Events in Washington, D.C. The film was also screened worldwide via satellite to American embassies during the May-June 1990 summit between then presidents George H.W. Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev.

A 1989 documentary film, The Bridge Project - "Bridging the Gap," narrated by Casey Kasem, chronicles the making of the film.
