Portraiture

"Portraiture" is his latest recording in the works. It is currently in production and showcases his band The Gnu Sextet. The track "Down with Downs" was chosen as the Winner of the 2009 John Lennon Songwriting Contest (Jazz Category Session1).

The Gnu Sextet features some of the best young jazz stars in Los Angeles including Matt Otto on tenor sax, Martin Sullivan on trombone, Andy Langham on piano, J.P. Maramba bass and drummer Jens Kuross. This dynamic group plays Swartz's original tunes/arrangements and held down a regular gig as the house band at the Tuesday jam session at the Club 1160 in Hollywood from May of 2005 until 2010.

Where the money is going:

"Portraiture" is already recorded, mixed and mastered. With your help, we can complete the final steps of this special project in releasing the album. We need $3000 for pressing, design printing, packaging, distribution and promotion of the record.

Thank you for support and being part of this project.
