Uniformz and more - The Nothing live at The Show Place - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 01, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Here is ultra rare footage (in low resolution, unfortunately) of cult NYC punk/No Wave band The Nothing, filmed at The Show Place in New Jersey in late 1979 or early 1980. The band features Trixie Sly (deceased 2008) on vocals, known for his anarchic, provocative performances, and also for his appearance as a friend/roadie of the band in the Abel Ferrera film "Driller Killer" (1979). The band also features Phil Shoenfelt on bass, who later went on to form Khmer Rouge, and who now plays with Southern Cross (Prague) and Dim Locator (Berlin); Mickey Crash on drums, who has worked with Brett Smiley (the subject of Nina Antonia's book "The Prettiest Star"), and more recently with Val Kinzler in Validation; Eddie Spit on guitar; Webster Smith on keyboards; and Lollipop as one of the female backing vocalists. The Nothing produced only one 7 inch single during their short career, "Uniformz"/"Scream 'n' Cry". This extremely rare single is now a collectors' item, and sells on EBay for up to 2000 dollars. R.I.P Trixie, and thanks for the trip!
