Brandon Mcgovern with drummer Bill Padgett playing the Chris Bell (of Big Star) solo tune "I got kinda lost", at the Blue Monkey in Memphis (next door to Ardent studio).The stage light at the Blue Monkey is horrible, but the sound was usually very good.
Brandon McGovern has been a champion of Big Star's music since before I met him in 1992. Before the 1st big reunion show, and long before it got popular to dig this great underground post Beatles pop rock band out of Memphis from the early mid 1970s. There are now several videos posted of Brandon playing the songs of Big Star dating back 16 years. Check out the one of him playing "Watch the sunrise" at Central BBQ in Memphis from 4 or 5 years ago.... not just any chimp with a toy guitar can pull that one off. Great Singer.
