Powerful!!!. is how New York's Borgo Pass describes their sound. As a five piece ALL ORIGINAL band, James Tamarazzo (Vocals), Paul Rosado (Guitar), Tom Crane (Guitar), Tom "Sasquatch" Karcher (Bass), and Joe Wood (Drums) have built themselves a large loyal fan base with their massive grooving and infectious sound. Borgo Pass has played with many top acts including: Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath), Alice in Chains, Type O Negative, SuperJoint Ritual, Alice Cooper, Queensryche, Shadows Fall, Clutch, Anthrax, Bio-Hazard, Life Of Agony, Kings X, The Misfits, Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Overkill, W.A.S.P. and many more creating quite a buzz in the heavy music scene as a force to be reckoned with. Borgo Pass have positioned themselves as an underground superpower operating completely on their own in regards to writing, production, recording, merchandise, booking, touring and promotion.
Borgo Pass cites hard rock/metal from the late '60's and '70's as its main influence and mixes it together with a more modern and aggressive approach. Realizations of everyday life is the common ground of the music and lyrical content. The band's second self-produced album "Powered by Sludge", released in early 2000, was extremely well received by their ever growing legion of fans, creating a feeding frenzy of downloading on MP3.com. The album became critically acclaimed worldwide, being named one of the top 10 albums of 2000 by the Netherlands' Aardshock Magazine! Borgo Pass has also released two more albums since then, "Slightly Damaged" and "Nervosa" which were indeed big hits with the fans. Currently, Borgo has just released an EP titled "BFP EP", which the fans are eating up with a hungry, heavy rock appetite. The boys are headed back into the studio to record a full length this September, so stay tuned for more Borgo Pass music.
The band continues to play the local, heavy, Long Island Music Scene which involves many strong up and coming bands while touring regionally all throughout the year. Borgo Pass has has embarked on two self-sufficient tours of the Southern United States including two wicked performances at The House of Shock (NOLA) owned and operated by Ross Karpleman, Jay Gracinetti, Steve Joseph and Phil Anselmo of Down/Pantera. Most recently after being seen and heard by satellite radio host Jose Mangin, Borgo Pass (unsigned) has charted for over 6 weeks in the top 30 most requested songs with "The Dogs Know Better" on Sirius Radio's Liquid Metal station alongside some serious heavy rock legends. Hand picked this June by Hatebreed's / MTV's Headbangers Ball Host Jamey Jasta, look for Borgo on the new FREE sampler "For The Headbangers" available at Mayhem/Ozzfest 2010 festivals and iTunes. Placing first and winning both the 2010 Long Island Unsigned Band Festival and the NYC Gotham Rocks Music Showcase lights a bright path for Borgo Pass this year alone. Hard work and determination have always been priority number one in the Borgo Pass camp from its inception and growing forward. If you enjoy music that is powerful, diverse, and emotionally charged, then you must experience this roller coaster ride of the senses known as Borgo Pass…Pronounced…we think you know just how we pronounce it.
