Please read all of this preface before watching the video to help put it in context.
I have always been captivated by the tune played on the bagpipes during the battle sequence in the Animals song, "Sky Pilot". Researching recently, and also having the pleasure to interview Eric Burdon many years ago, I have been able to ascertain that the tune played by Scottish bagpipers during the battle sequence in Sky Pilot is called; 'All the Bluebonnets are Over the Border". "Sky Pilot" was recorded and released by the Animals in 1968, during the height of the Viet-Nam war. Thus, making it an anti-war anthem.
The imagery of the song I believe can be patterned for any war. My passion for the Civil War brought me to making this video. And, I have included as an overture to "Sky Pilot" the entire Scottish traditional tune; "All the Bluebonnets are Over the Border", which Eric and the Animals include as a portion of the battle sequence in the song.
In order to reach the optimal effect of the video, please watch from beginning to end.
