Paul Ritch's Quartz imprint, celebrated for launching the likes of Carlo Lio, Hermanez and Simon Garcia, charges forth with yet another career breaking release from Hungarian born DJ and producer, Snilloc. Gliding through the four track 'Black Boutique EP' (with a little help from VIVa regular, Leon), Snilloc achieves some rather satisfying dance floor workouts, all with those cleverly subtle nuances that show a true master in the making.
Title track 'Black Boutique' sets about ensnaring listeners with a naturally rhythmic, grooving bassline, which Leon then takes to far techier, hard-edged extremes. A place where deeply rich sonic carving meets cool and witty vocal work, Snilloc's first offering for the label shows he's cleverly put his decade's experience of big club residencies to great use as his adept and challenging productions go from strength to strength. Yet another blinder from the ever-consistent Quartz Records.
