BOGSHED : live at the Gregson Centre (Lancaster) on 9 March 1986 - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Bogshed recorded live in Lancaster at the Gregson Centre on Sunday 9 March 1986

support act were Dr. & The Crippens

this was part of a series of concerts I put on in Lancaster between 1984 - 1987 (it went under the name of the "Brix Club"). All shows were recorded on a Panasonic Walkman cassette player. I have not EQ'd or mastered any of these recordings, as I want people to hear them in their natural condition....raw and ready.

The band formed in early 1984 and comprised Phil Hartley (vocals), Mark McQuaid (guitar), Mike Bryson (bass guitar), and Tris King (drums).

I loved Bogshed so much. Their records thrilled and excited and their Peel sessions were a breath of fresh air. But live they were something else....a magical mix of Beefheartian anarchy mixed with WMC / holiday camp bravura and humour.

The bass string breaks after one song and they fill the time brilliantly improvising a philosophical rhapsody whilst a replacement string is found.

Enjoy!
