A thousand Violins - ZZ and the Maskers - Cover by Dave Monk - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 03, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
ZZ and the Maskers is a Dutch beat band best known between 1963 and 1965 with singer Bob Bouber, stage name of Boris Blom.
Later, a large number of instrumental songs were released under the name ZZ & Masks. Jan de Hont is the soloist in these numbers, of which La Comparsa is a really beautiful classic. Inspired by the British beat music, in 1964 the group also recorded English songs such as Sloppin 'in Las Vegas and Cheat cheat cheat. In 1965, two singles were produced with Chubby Checker (Stoppin 'in Las Vegas, a modified version of Sloppin 'in Las Vegas ) and Baby Baby Balla Balla).
A thousand Violins was originally published in 1950 by Los Trés Diamantes (Mexico). Title is Mil Violines
Here is my version of A thousand Violins, as played by Jan de Hont from ZZ and the Maskers, using a lovely backing track that I believe is by Ton van Tergouw.
I hope you like it. Dave
