Guitar With Jamie - Link Wray "Rumble" (for Bob Marsh) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 28, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
This has been recorded by Jamie Kutaj of www.GuitarWithJamie.com for Bob Marsh's guitar lesson on Thursday, March.28th, 2013. If this helps anyone else out then I am more than happy!

This is part of the song Rumble by Link Wray that occurs right after the B7 chord is played. The notes are apart of the E Minor Pentatonic scale and start from the 3rd fret of the little e string and descend one scale tone at a time all the way down to the big E string. This descending series of notes lasts 1.5 bars (1 23, 2 23, 3 23, 4 23, 1 23, 2 23...) and then the D chord would be strummed on the 3rd and 4th beats of the second bar. Keep in mind that the picking pattern is DOWN, UP, DOWN, UP... and that the note on the 3rd fret of the big E string is bent by a 1/4 tone. Remember to bend the note AFTER the note has had time to ring out. Don't bend that big E string before you've picked it. It's also okay if some of the notes continue to quietly ring out while you've moved on to other notes. If you listen carefully to the recording by Link Wray, you may hear him doing the same thing.

Any questions or comments? I will do my best to answer as soon as possible!
