DESCRIPTION:
This was my first time in a studio...!974..... I was 18yrs old.....Thor Studios on St Vincent street. We recorded 2 tracks in the session this one and "Holiday Song". It was produced by Tam Harvey of "The Humblebums" and features Tam playing Dobro and Mandolin. Alan and Bobby played on this and a couple of local hero's of mine Hughie Breen and Sammy Robin.....Hughie sang harmonies and Sammy played very cool and understated electric guitar which I loved! Hughie had a great voice...a cross between James Taylor and Gerry Rafferty! My good friend Norrie MacDonald managed to get interest at Anchor Records who wanted more but when I tried to get Tam he'd moved to Sweden and the follow up demos were poorly produced in comparison so the interest fizzled out.........so kids remember its about the sound not just the song and voice!!
P.S. this is a 40yr old reel tape and there is a wee dip in quality after the 1st verse for a few seconds...its not your speakers!!!
Hope you enjoy
Cheers
Stephen
