The British bandleader and composer Eric Winstone (1913-74) started his first band in 1935 and became popular as a forces and holiday camp entertainer during and after World War 2. Per IMDB he "Expert English piano-accordionist, especially popular between the late 1930's and the late 1950's as a soloist or leader of a swing quartet, made up of accordion, bass, guitar and vibraphone. Also periodically led a larger dance band. Gained much exposure from his radio program 'Music While You Work'.". He was an occasional panellist on the British TV programme 'Juke Box Jury'. This piece seems to have been his biggest hit, and was recorded by the Ted Heath Orchestra.
