In this Brave new world where the future is now, BluSirkut keeps in step with contemporary trends in music through the use of technology. Their creative process of employing samples & synthesizers alongside traditional musical instrumentation such as pianos & guitars, drums & bass, horns & vocals, has given way to their own hybrid form of Electronica.
Where technology is viewed in this collective as not just merely a means to and end, but as an invaluable tool that gives way to a richer creative experience. Furthermore, each member in the band is formally trained and skilled in many many different forms of music. Their tasteful melding of styles from Jazz & Funk to World-Beat & Rock, tempered with dynamic beats, driving rhythms and compelling melodies, make for a sophisticated sound unique unto them.
Founded in 2005 by long standing members of Karl Denson's Tiny Universe; Chris Littlefield (Trumpet/Effects/Laptop), David Veith (Keys/Beats/Loops) Brian Jordan (Guitar/Bass), John Staten (Drums) and Alton Parker (Visuals : Allman Bros. & Brotherhood of Light), later added Ryan Krieger (Drums & Loops : Dr. Didg) and "Papa Josh" Surheinrich (Guitar & Bass : Global Funk Council) effectively replacing Brian Jordan and John Staten as they moved on to further their careers as band leaders of their own groups. This new BluSirkut line up proved to be equally if not more inspired, and quickly synergized around writing and performing with a retooled and upgraded vitality. However, faced with the daunting logistical challenges of having to convene members from Whistler BC to San Diego California and all points in between, touring stopped in 2008 in favor of writing and recording a new full length album.
While not having the luxury of living in the same city, let alone same region, the band has to rely heavily on the Internet for their collaborative process. By making practical use of the World Wide Web, the group has made it an invaluable component in their work. By sharing digital music files on line from each of their workstations, BluSirkut has managed over time to craft and release two E.P.'s, a full length CD and several short videos. The world gets a little smaller each day.
With a wide variety of musical interests, tastes and talents as broad as the territory that separates the band members from one another, this group has managed to painstakingly transform their obstacles into assets. It's been a lengthy and difficult process given each of their demanding schedules of touring or recording with other groups, teaching, or raising a family. And much like that of a fine wine, It's a challenging undertaking.but the end result is well worth the wait.
That being said, BluSirkut humbly invites you into their world of aural sensation for your listening pleasure. Feel free to enjoy their music with out risk dissatisfaction or lack of stimulation.
