Here is the lyrics (OFFICIAL FROM SABATON.NET) :

Sometimes war is killing, sometimes it’s saving lives
It’s the judgement of fate, it’s nothing that man can dictate
Corporal Leslie Allen carried them from Tambu
Saved his brothers in arms, went out and followed through

There and back again, Bull just carried on
Under fire he carried them out one by one
There and back again, bullets all around
All of the men that he carried away
12 men would now live to see one more day
His fear held at bay, as he carried them away

Sometimes war is killing, sometimes it’s saving lives
From Australias shore, Bull Allen went to war
Sometimes war is saving, sometimes it’s taking lives
Thanks to one single man, a dozen more survives

Some men return from a war in a bag, and yet the world knows their story
Others return, unwilling to brag, alive and humble at heart

Historic fact (OFFICIAL FROM SABATON.NET) :

Leslie “Bull” Allen was an Australian stretcher bearer who served in the pacific, and his actions on mount Tambu in New Guinea is something quite extraordinary. During one day at the front he ran straight into enemy fire alone, time after time to pick up wounded American soldiers. 12 times he went up the hill, and 12 times he came down with a wounded allied soldier on his shoulder. For this selfless act he was awarded with the US Silver star.

Album information (OFFICIAL FROM SABATON.NET) :

The idea for HEROES started already when we wrote the lyrics for the 2010 album Coat of Arms. By then we already had the idea that one day we should write an album where we take the focus away from the big battles and focus more on the individuals who go beyond the call of duty, do something extraordinary thus earning the title ”hero”.

We already saved such stories since the time for Coat of Arms and the majority of the songs on this album was actually inspired by ideas sent in by fans like you.

The pressure was huge on us to follow up the success of Carolus Rex which was a milestone in our career. With some fresh blood in the band we also felt that no shadow must fall on our new recruits. We want to look forward and not get stuck in the past.

Sitting here writing the final words for the booklet we can be proud of what we achieved.

Mission accomplished.
