If you're into synth tones and crazy-phat octave blasts, then the TWA Great Divide is the pedal for you. The Great Divide features octave up, down, sub octave and a range of synth tones that rival the old Galaxian. This pedal is capable of severe speaker, amp and pedal destruction and should be handled with care (this is clearly written in the owners manual and I agree wholeheartedly).

There's an Expression Pedal input that lets you swell the pedal in (I've used a cheap M-Audio EXP pedal here) and inside you'll find a bed of trim pots that let you fine tune pretty much all facets of the Great Divide's tone.

It tracks well and will benefit further from your accurate note playing, the selection of the neck pickup over the bridge pickup, and rolling back the tone a little.

But mostly the Great Divide just sounds HUGE. I'm sure they felt the subs in the next block while I was demoing it. The brown note, as it were. Bass players with a grudge will find this pedal most appealing.

The Great Divide Mk. II features the following controls:

Dry Level Fader
-1 Octave Level Fader
+1 Octave Level Fader
+1 Octave Envelope Switch (sort of like Synth resonance, or maybe a cosmic death-ray)
SUB Level Fader & Switch with 4 Selectable voices ( -1, -1.5, -2 or -2.6)
SYN Level Fader & Clock with 5 Selectable Voices (0, -1, -1.5, -2, -2.6)
SYN waveform switch w/4 options (Saw/Pulse, Chopped Saw/Pulse, Square, Modulated Square)
Cross-modulation option for -1 OCT (tracks SUB clock)
Raw clock option for SUB voice (think MASSIVE, vulgar square wave)
12 Internal Trimmers to control various sound parameters (Tweaky-Tweak)
External Effects Loop to patch in other effects (AWWWW Yeah!)
S3™ Shortest Send Switching™ for uncolored bypass tone
