DESCRIPTION:
New Jersey's black metal two-piece, Misanthropic Rituals, consists of founding member and songwriter, Andrew Rituals Bono and vocalist/lyricist, Josh Perrin. Together they "break the cycle" of stereotypical black metal acts with an "ethereal" approach to creating original music.

Preceding Earth
When things were pure
Before the thought of Lucifer
An ethereal race ruled the realms of space
But among them, born of darkness, one was spawned but misplaced
Who disgraced their ways at an early age
At once the bad seed to be erased
But through sin he lied to evade his demise
And the good-hearted never grew wise
So the child was spared
He was nurtured and cared for
But the nature of the beast could not be repaired
It was lust that grew for the old and new
And the adolescent raped the women through and through

With wings spread, their world he fled
And there was nothing they could do

Seeking liberty and a place to rest his tethered soul,
he spent nights alone wandering the endless realm we call the astral plane
It was there he founded new law, now known only by those still damned
But not long after, in an attempt to escape existence, he was poisoned by his own hand

But his body and blood remained as earth and water
His last breath as air
And his hate still lives in the flame that guides you through his black spirit

Creating Earth
For the impure
The children born of Lucifer
A malevolent plane serving the profane
Wherein souls are put through pain to score material gain
Self-indulgent ties feed their dark enterprise
which millenia carries through with this reprise
When taught to man, he began to claim the land
thus the nations under Satan walk the path of the left hand
To the darkest depths where a world is kept
locked away through seven deadly steps acted on through fire
of man's desire on which he built his own empire

Of timeless size, a kingdom lies
That his children began to admire

And so the Earth was visited by the ancients
Its dwellers learned of its roots which were not beneath but above
And the nature of their being, condemned for what it was
proved unworthy of their ancestral dimension
Some chose to obey this new law
while other embraced the darkness they were born with
for the path of light has proven through time a consistent corrupted faith

That had begun man's quest for the truth
With no truer words having ever passed tongue and tooth
They haunt the thoughts of mortal man
They bring to life the divine plan
Of timeless size, a kingdom lies in those ethereal beginnings
